Kankaria is famous for housing Kankaria Lake which is a major tourist destination in Ahmedabad. There are several small and large monuments, temples and other edifices that surround this lake and area around.
Among the religious buildings, Ved Mandir, Swaminarayan Mandir and Parsi Asiyan Mandir are famous among masses. Kankaria Municipal pool, Balvatika, Garden Hill, Natural History MuMusemzoo and Kankaria open air theater are good recreational points and are visited by large number of tourists.
